This guide walks through how a Bud Mark user can create and edit Rubrics within the management app.
User Roles
Any user with a Bud Mark account can administer Rubrics.
How to: Create a Rubric
The Rubric creation process is split into two phases, the first phase is creating the base Rubric with important metadata completed, like the name and context. The second phase is where we build out the actual Rubric table of contents. The steps to do this can be seen below
Basic Rubric metadata
1. Navigate to the ‘Rubrics’ page
2. Click the ‘Create new Rubric’ button
3. Input the ‘Rubric Title’
4. Input the ‘Module Code’
5. Input the ‘Rubric Context’
6. Click ‘Create Rubric’
This metadata information is important as it is used within the AI evaluation engine. Details on the field requirements can be found here.
Once the Rubric is created, you will be taken to the ‘preview’ page of the Rubric. You will also see a default blank row in the table.
Rubric table detail
You can now proceed to populate the Rubric table with the following steps:
7. Click ‘Edit’
Add criterion
8. To create new Criterion:
a. Click the ‘Add new criterion’ button.
b. Enter the criterion name.
Delete criterion
9. To delete a criterion:
a. Simply click the ‘Bin’ icon on the right of the column and it will disappear.
Add performance level column
10. To add new performance levels as columns:
a. Click ‘Add new column’.
b. In the new column, enter the label you want.
c. Click the tick to confirm.
Edit a performance level label
11. To edit the label on a performance level
a. Click the pencil alongside the level you want to edit
b. Change the label
c. Click the tick to confirm
Delete a performance level
12. To delete a performance level
a. Click the bin icon alongside the label
Add descriptors
13. To enter descriptors:
a. Click into the box you want to change.
b. Enter the information and click away.
Save changes
14. Once you have made all the necessary changes, make sure you click 'Save'.
How to: Edit a Rubric
To edit a Rubric, follow these steps:
1. Navigate to the ‘Rubrics’ page
2. Click the Rubric you wish to change
3. Click the ‘Edit’ button
4. You can now update the metadata or the Rubric table.
5. Click Save once completed
