Ofsted Developments in Bud

In consultation with some of our Customers who have gone through the new Ofsted process, we have some enhancements we will be enacting across the platform over the next few releases.

Application Updates

Within the Applicant Background section, we will add questions pertaining to the following topics:

  • Did the applicant receive free school meals
  • If the Applicant is known to the youth-justice service

Where we already capture an applicant’s LLDD, we will add a question to capture:

  • If reasonable adjustments are required, and if so, a separate question to capture those adjustments.

Finally, we will add a question surrounding NEET status:

  • Where an Applicants age puts them within the NEET group, we will ask a question to capture their situation before starting the programme.

We understand additional useful information to capture here would be information pertaining to Learning barriers. In consultation with our Customer Forum, we believe these questions and possible answers would be sector specific. And so a generic set of questions may not cut it. Therefore, Bud recommends utilising our Flexible Enrolment Questions to capture these.

Reviews

Within the Progress Review, we plan to add a couple of questions to the welfare section:

  • A generic well-being question.
  • Potentially additional questions to capture changes to the above enrolment questions.

IQA Sample

We received some feedback from some Customers, that our quality sampling report included a rating, that aligned to the previous Ofsted ratings (outstanding, Good, etc).

We discussed this in our recent Customer Forum, and consulted with an Ofsted Inspector, and there was strong agreement that the options in this form are not intended to align to any Ofsted reporting or metrics, and therefore changing them is not of value, especially compared to other items in progress and planned.

If you have further feedback, or have questions about our Ofsted updates, please reach out to your Customer Success Manager.
