Navigation Update: New Sidebar Layout

Overview

Bud's navigation has a new look! The main menu has moved from the top of the screen to a collapsible sidebar on the left, giving you more control over your workspace. Collapse it to icons when you need more screen space, or keep it expanded for quick access to labelled navigation

This is a visual change to the interface layout only. The navigation options available, their names, and the order in which they appear are unchanged.

No action is required. We are aiming to launch this new layout for all users on Tuesday 19th May, 2026.

What Has Changed

Previous layout

Navigation links were displayed in a horizontal bar running across the top of the page.

New layout

Navigation links are now displayed in a sidebar on the left-hand side of the screen. The sidebar can be expanded to show labels alongside icons, or collapsed to show icons only, giving more screen space when needed.

Sub-menus

Navigation items that previously expanded in the top bar now expand as a sub-menu within the sidebar. Click any parent item to reveal its sub-menu options. The available options are unchanged.

What Has Not Changed

The following remain exactly as before:

  • All navigation menu items and their names
  • The order in which menu items appear
  • Sub-menu structure and the items they contain
  • The behaviour of all pages, forms, and workflows within the platform
  • User permissions and role-based access controls

Collapsing and Expanding the Sidebar

Use the toggle control at the top of the sidebar to switch between expanded and collapsed views. When collapsed, the sidebar shows icons only. Hover over an icon to see its label. Click any icon to navigate as normal.
