Troubleshooting – E-learning / SCORM activity resource won’t load

Activities on the learning plan may include interactive content and quizzes that open in a new window, often referred to as SCORM content or E-learning. If you/your learner encounter issues launching these resources from activities in the learning plan, this handy guide to will help you with troubleshooting in the first instance.

Issue: Nothing happens after clicking the launch button on the E-learning resource 

Here are our recommendations. After each step, try loading the resource again:

  1. Check your browser settings to ensure pop-ups are not blocked. Guidance on how to do this varies depending on your browser or operating system - please refer to the relevant link provided below.  please note that if using a work device, you may need to consult your IT department if you don't have permissions to access these settings.
  •  
    • MS Edge: Managing Pop-ups in MS Edge (see ‘How to allow pop-ups for a specific URL’)
    • Google Chrome: Managing pop-ups in Google Chrome (scroll to ‘Allow pop-ups and redirects from a site’)
    • Safari on iPhone, iPad & MAC: you will not be able to block or allow pop ups for a specific website in the browser settings, rather it is a global setting applied to all websites and is actioned via the device itself.  Please refer to Apple guidance on how to do this.

2. Clear your browsing data/cache.

3. Switch to a different browser (e.g. from Safari to Chrome or Edge).

4. Switch to a different network (e.g. switch from work WiFi to home network).

5. Try a different device (e.g. switch from iOS to Windows).
