We are excited to announce the release of several innovative AI features to our platform, designed to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of your training programmes. These capabilities have been carefully developed to support trainers and improve learner outcomes. Below, you will find detailed information about the Bud Assist: Learner Insights feature and how it can benefit your organisation.
Overview
Learner Insights leverages learning from an advanced machine learning algorithm to analyse data within the platform, offering critical insights into each learner's progress. This feature helps identify areas where additional support may be needed, allowing trainers to prioritise interventions effectively. Bud Assist: Learner Insights are only available for Apprenticeship programmes.
Key Benefits:
- Progress Monitoring: Gain a clear view of learners' progress with data-driven insights.
- Timely Interventions: Identify learners who may require additional intervention to get back on track.
- Efficiency: Sort learner lists by those needing the most immediate attention, ensuring timely completion of their programmes.
Ranking observations
Learner interventions are each given a rank to determine the level of risk or intervention that may be required. Insights are "ranked" as follows:
- Issue - The learner is likely to require intervention in this area to progress/complete their programme.
- Warning - The learner may require intervention now or in the near future to ensure progression/completion in a timely manner.
- On track - The learner is currently on track for progression/completion.
- Info - For information only. These elements may indirectly contribute to progression/completion or could be given purely for contextual information on the other observations.
Observations are sorted from Issue to Info so you can easily see which areas require the most attention.
Learner list sorting options
We have extended our Learner Insights capability to allow you to sort and filter the learner list to highlight learners who may need the most support. Utilising the Learner Analysis filter options, you can quickly identify learners deemed Issue, Warning or On Track.
This leverages the scores given in the learner observations to group learners into those that need the most support. This may mean a learner with multiple warning observations could require more support than a learner with just one issue observation.
Within the learner list there is also the ability to sort learners by their intervention ranking, this will allow you to display learners with the most need for support in an ordered list allowing for easy prioritisation.
Learner observations detail
To help you understand the observations, the table below explains each metric that could be present. Each learner may have all or a selection of the below observations depending on their progress.
Observation | Rank | Detail |

Warning | No active learning has been completed this month.
On track | Active learning has been completed this month.

Issue | Learner's skill scan score is significantly behind the expected level at this point in their programme (taken from skill scan date) |
Warning |
Learner's skill scan score is behind the expected level at this point in their programme (taken from skill scan date) OR The Learner does not have a skills scan. |
|
On track | Learner's skill scan score is at or exceeding the expected level at this point in their programme (taken from skill scan date)
Functional Skills (If functional skills are exempt or not required, this will not be shown.) |
Warning | Functional skills outstanding and more than 50% through programme |
Info | Functional skills have been completed but awaiting IQA OR Learner has functional skills to complete (Less than halfway through programme)
On track | Learner has completed all of their functional skills |
