Introduction
An Additional Learning Support (ALS) plan can be created during the sign-up meeting. However, you do not have to create it at this point, it can be created at any point during the apprenticeship. Additionally, ALS can be turned on and off during the apprenticeship, as required.
As part of the sign-up process, every applicant is asked if they require ALS. If an applicant has completed the BKSB assessments or has declared any disabilities or difficulties, then these will also be displayed to the trainer. This information will help you to have a conversation with the applicant to identify whether they require ALS.
