Introduction
If you have configured a programme to include BKSB initial assessments, every learner enrolling on the programme will be required to complete the assessments. The article explains how the learner is invited to complete their BKSB assessments during the enrolment process and how results are populated in Bud.
When does the learner get invited to complete their IA?
When you have completed the 'Basic Personal Details' page of the enrolment and selected a programme with BKSB enabled, the learner will receive an email notifying them of the time/place/location of their signup meeting. Alongside this, they will receive a separate email inviting them to complete their initial assessments, with a link to BKSB. In order for them to complete the signup process, the learner will need to complete all IAs required.
Populating BKSB results in Bud
There are two methods to populating BKSB results in Bud:
- Automated results
- Manually enter results
Awaiting Results
The default for new applications will be to show the assessments as awaiting results. This can be seen by the orange 'Awaiting results' pill next to the assessment title and the orange banner at the bottom of the assessment panel.
From here, you can either wait for the BKSB results to be automatically updated or you can manually enter the results.
Example of assessments awaiting results:
Manually Entered Results
If you choose to manually enter the results, once you save and return to the page you will see the green 'Manually entered' pill next to the assessment title and the green banner at the bottom of the assessment panel.
You will be able to edit the Result, Date, and/or attached file.
If you manually enter a result and later the BKSB assessment is completed, this section will update with the new automated results and discard the manually entered information.
Example of manually entered results:
Automated Results
Once the automated results have been received from BKSB, the fields will be populated and the blue 'Automated' pill will be shown next to the assessment title and the blue banner will be shown at the bottom of the assessment panel.
These results cannot be manually overwritten.
Example of automated results:
How do I know if my learner has completed their IA?
When adding the learner’s additional details into Bud, you will see a tab titled ‘Functional skills initial assessments’:
The progress indicators for the 'Functional skills initial assessments' page will be updated to the green tick indication complete once a result has been provided for every assessment associated with the programme. This could be either an automated result or a manually entered result.
Please note – you cannot move to the next stage of sign up until this section has been completed.
