Introduction
If you have configured a programme to include CENTURY initial assessments (IA), every learner enrolling on the programme will be required to complete the assessments before being able to complete the application.
This article explains how the learner is invited to complete their CENTURY assessments during the enrolment process and how results are populated in Bud.
When does the learner get invited to complete their IA?
If you have selected a programme with CENTURY IAs enabled, when you click the 'save & close' button on the 'Programme details' page of the enrolment, the learner will be registered with CENTURY and enrolled on the IA subjects (English, maths, digital skills) configured for that programme.
The learner will receive an email from Bud containing the information required for them to log-in to CENTURY and complete their initial assessments.
Viewing CENTURY results in Bud
There are three states for diplaying CENTURY results in Bud:
- Awaiting results
- Automated results
- Manually enter results
Awaiting Results
The default for new applications will be to show the assessments as awaiting results. This can be seen by the orange 'Awaiting results' pill next to the assessment title.
From here, you can either wait for the CENTURY results to be automatically updated or you can manually enter the results.
Example of assessments awaiting results:
Automated Results
Once the learner has completed their assessments and the automated results have been received from CENTURY, the 'Result' and 'Date' fields will be populated and the blue 'Automated' pill will be shown next to the assessment title and the blue banner will be shown at the bottom of the assessment panel.
These results cannot be manually overwritten.
Example of automated results:
Manually Entered Results
In order to manually enter a result, it is mandatory to:
- Enter a result
- Enter a date
- Upload an attachment for evidence (e.g. a screenshot of a result)
If you choose to manually enter the results, once you save and return to the page you will see the green 'Manually entered' pill next to the assessment title and the green banner at the bottom of the assessment panel.
You will be able to edit the Result, Date, and/or attached file.
If you manually enter a result and later the CENTURY assessment is completed, this section will update with the new automated results and discard the manually entered information.
Example of manually entered results:
How do I know if my learner has completed their IA?
When adding the learner’s additional details into Bud, you will see a tab titled ‘CENTURY initial assessments’:
The progress indicators for the 'CENTURY initial assessments' page will be updated to the green tick indication complete once a result has been provided for every assessment associated with the programme. This could be either an automated result or a manually entered result.
Please note – you cannot move to the next stage of sign up until this section has been completed.
Displaying the results in the documents
Once results have been captured, they will be displayed on the Application Summary document for the learner to sign.
