Does Bud Assist for Learners use the whole detailed instructions from the Bud activity?
Yes - it uses the activity details in the learners section.
Question: Can trainers see conversations between the chatbot and Learner?
Yes – there is a trainer view of all conversations between the chatbot and the learner that is currently in development.
Question: Does it use American English?
No, the chatbot uses British English.
Question: Can it also access the SCORM content, any hyperlinks embedded in the learner instructions and any PDFs that are in the resources?
No - at this stage, Bud Assist for Learners cannot open files, hyperlinks or SCORM content, but this is something we’d like to explore in the future.
Question: If it can't access PDFs and SCORMS, can it be taught to recognise that those resources are there and signpost the learner to them? If it can't access them, at least it might then prompt a learner to review them.
Yes – it will advise learners that the information is there and that they can review it or consider it.
Question: Does Bud Assist for Learners only consider content within Bud, or might it look further afield?
Yes - it is based on Bud data, but it can also consider items from the real world, so long as it’s relevant to the learner’s programme.
Question: Are there any near-future plans to develop to recognise and read submissions the learner attaches?
Yes – this is something we’d like to explore in the future.
Question: Will the chatbot be able to help learners with how to log their OTJ hours?
Yes – it can help with both how to do it in the Bud platform and help them understand what counts as an off-the-job hour.
Question: If you forget to download the chat, does Bud Assist for Learners have a history, and is it saved?
Yes - the chat is saved for 24 hours, unless the learner has started a new chat and deleted the old one.
Question: Can we 'play around' with this somewhere, without it being live in a learner's account?
Yes – you can enable Bud Assist for Learners in your test environment and enrol a test learner to try out the chatbot.
