## Introduction

The Bud Accountability Framework is a suite of reports created in line with the ESFA Accountability Framework and is available to Bud's Premium customers.

The reports are based on your ILR for the current academic year and refresh each night.

*Note: This report is being updated in line with the ESFA's June 2024 update and an updated version will be released in June 2024. The content of this article is being updated to reflect these changes and may be out of sync with the version of the report currently available to you in the Bud platform.*

Our calculations are based on Funding Model 36 only and on the most recent ZPROG001 for each learning delivery. The total of these is displayed as the Number of Apprenticeships on each report.

For the Quality and Supplementary Indicators, we show if you are On Track, Need Improvement or At Risk based on the thresholds found in the ESFA guidelines. You can click through from the dashboard to see a detailed report for each of the Indicators.

The reports show cards which group apprenticeships based on the metrics the indicators are measuring so you can see how you are performing.

The reports can be filtered using the slicers at the top of the page. Where there is a category slicer, this is specific to the report being shown; usually allowing you to filter to show just the learners in one specific card. The Learner's name is a link to their Learning Plan in Bud.

The definitions below refer to the CompStatus field in the ILR. This field tells you the status of the learning plan.

CompStatus | Value |

1 | In Progress |

2 | Completed |

3 | Withdrawn |

6 | On Break |

## Quality Indicators

### Achievement and Retention Rate

Explore your learners who have completed their apprenticeship, this includes learners who have achieved, partially achieved, or not achieved their apprenticeship. This will not replicate the QAR produced by the ESFA

#### Cards:

Number of Ended Apprenticeships |
Number of apprenticeships where CompStatus is 2 or 3 Expressed as a % of the total number of apprenticeships. |

Total Achievers |
Number of apprenticeships where CompStatus is 2 Expressed as a % of the number of ended apprenticeships. |

Retention |
Number of apprenticeships where CompStatus is 2 Expressed as a % of the number of ended apprenticeships. |

The table shows the ended apprenticeships.

#### Achievement Rate

Total Achievers / Number of Ended Apprenticeships

#### Achievement Rate Status

Achievement Rate >= 60% | On Track |

Achievement Rate >= 50% | Needs Improvement |

Achievement Rate < 50% | At Risk |

#### Retention Rate

Retention / Number of Ended Apprenticeships

#### Retention Rate Status

Retention Rate >= 62% | On Track |

Retention Rate >= 52% | Needs Improvement |

Retention Rate < 52% | At Risk |

#### Feedback and Ofsted Reports

These are external links to the respective sites. The feedback rating is cumulative and the ESFA will use the most recent academic year rating.

## Supplementary Indicators

### Off the Job Hours

Off the job training includes learners who have completed. You can explore learners with 0 planned hours, 0 actual hours and learners where the actual is less than the planned hours.

#### Cards:

Actual OTJH < Planned OTJH |
Number of apprenticeships where CompStatus is 2 Expressed as a % of the total number of apprenticeships. |

Planned OTJH is 0 |
Number of apprenticeships where CompStatus is 1 or 2 or 3 Expressed as a % of the total number of apprenticeships. |

Actual OTJH is 0 |
Number of apprenticeships where CompStatus is 2 or 3 Expressed as a % of the total number of apprenticeships. |

The table shows apprenticeships identified in any of the three cards above.

#### Off the Job Hours Status

Count [Planned OTJH is 0] > 0 |
At Risk |

Count [Actual OTJH < Planned OTJH] >= 15 | Needs Improvement |

Count [Planned OTJH is 0] = 0 AND Count [Actual OTJH is 0] = 0 AND Count [Actual OTJH < Planned OTJH] < 15 |
On Track |

### Withdrawal Rate

Explore your learners who have withdrawn in the current academic year. This will not replicate the QAR produced by the ESFA

#### Cards:

Total Withdrawn |
Number of apprenticeships where CompStatus is 3 Expressed as a % of the total number of apprenticeships. |

Early Withdrawals |
Number of apprenticeships where CompStatus is 3 Expressed as a % of the total number of apprenticeships. |

Withdrawn after qualifying period |
Number of apprenticeships where CompStatus is 3 Expressed as a % of the total number of apprenticeships. |

The table shows the withdrawn apprenticeships.

#### Withdrawal Rate

Withdrawn after qualifying period / Total number of apprenticeships

#### Withdrawal Rate Status

Withdrawal Rate <= 15% | On Track |

Withdrawal Rate <= 20% | Needs Improvement |

Withdrawal Rate > 20% | At Risk |

### Past Planned End Date

Passed Planned End Date includes both in progress and completed learners. For in progress learners we calculate the date from the planned end of the practical period to today. For completed learners, we look at the difference between the planned end of the practical period and the actual end of the learning date.

#### Cards:

Total past planned end date |
Number of apprenticeships where CompStatus=1 PLUS Number of apprenticeships where CompStatus=2 Expressed as a % of the total number of apprenticeships. |

Number past by >90 days |
Number of apprenticeships where CompStatus=1 PLUS Number of apprenticeships where CompStatus=2 Expressed as a % of the total number of apprenticeships. |

Number past by >180 days |
Number of apprenticeships where CompStatus=1 PLUS Number of apprenticeships where CompStatus=2 Expressed as a % of the total number of apprenticeships. |

The table shows apprenticeships that are past their planned end date.

#### Learners Past Planned End Date Status

[Number past by >180 days] >= 15% | At Risk |

[Number past by >90 days] >= 15% | Needs Improvement |

[Number past by >90 days] < 15% | On Track |

### Breaks in Learning

Explore your learners who are currently on a break. You can filter the learners to see who has been on a break for over 180 days or over 365 days.

#### Cards:

Total on a break |
Number of apprenticeships where CompStatus=6 Expressed as a % of the total number of apprenticeships. |

Break duration >180 days |
Number of apprenticeships where CompStatus=6 Expressed as a % of the total number of apprenticeships. |

Break duration >365 days |
Number of apprenticeships where CompStatus=6 Expressed as a % of the total number of apprenticeships. |

The table shows all apprenticeships on a break.

#### Breaks Status

[Break duration >365 days] >= 10% | At Risk |

[Break duration >180 days] >= 10% | Needs Improvement |

[Break duration >180 days] < 10% | On Track |

### EPA Organisation

Explore your learners, who are in progress, where an End Point Assessment Organisation is not recorded in the ILR. All learners without an EPAO are listed, these have also been categorised based on how close they are to their planned end of practical period. Once the learner record is updated with the EPAO, the learner will be removed from the list the following day.

#### Cards:

Total without an EPAO |
Number of apprenticeships where CompStatus=1 Expressed as a % of the total number of apprenticeships. |

Without an EPAO 3-6 months before end of practical period |
Number of apprenticeships where CompStatus=1 Expressed as a % of the total number of apprenticeships. |

Without an EPAO <3 months or past end of practical period |
Number of apprenticeships where CompStatus=1 Expressed as a % of the total number of apprenticeships. |

The table shows all apprenticeships without an EPA Organisation.

#### EPA Organisation Status

Count [Without an EPAO <3 months or past end of practical period] > 0 | At Risk |

Count [Without an EPAO 3-6 months before end of practical period] >0 | Needs Improvement |

Count [Without an EPAO <3 months or past end of practical period] = 0 AND Count [Without an EPAO 3-6 months before end of practical period] = 0 |
