Introduction
When a learner fails their End Point Assessment (EPA), Bud provides options to manage the next steps. This guide explains how to mark a learner as failed, including options for resits, retakes, or completing without achievement. By following these steps, trainers can ensure accurate records.
Definitions

Retake - the Learner will take the end-point assessment again, after further training.

Resit - the Learner will take a mandatory qualification or the end-point assessment again, without any extra learning.

Complete without achievement - the Learner has decided they do not with to continue with the Assessment.

How To: Mark a Learner as failed
The process within Bud is very straight to mark a Learner as having failed their EPA.
- Navigate to the Learners End-point Assessment page.
2. Select 'No' to the question "Has the learner passed End-point Assessment?"
3. In the popup, you can enter the date and select what the learner is doing next. See the description of what each option will change in the table below.
4. Once input, the user will be asked to confirm their selection and save the record.
The Outcomes
Below details what changes in learner management and the ILR when certain outcomes are selected through the above process. With all of these outcomes, the provider will be paid their 20% completion payment by the ESFA.
