Release 5.7 - 23rd January 2025

Bud Messaging

Over the past few months, we've been excited to share that Bud Messaging would be launching in January, and we’re thrilled to officially make that happen!

This new feature enhances engagement by enabling seamless communication between Learners and Employers directly within the platform.

The following Knowledge Base article, previously shared, provides lots of information and guidance to your users: Bud Messaging Overview.

BKSB Enhancements

We have enhanced how BKSB results are handled in Bud.

It is now possible to manually enter Initial Assessment results, allowing you to progress the application without waiting for the automated results. To manually add results, it will be mandatory to include:

  • A result
  • Date of result
  • Upload evidence (e.g. a screenshot from BKSB)

Now you can manually add results, we have updated the UI on the Initial Assessments page so it is clear where results have been manually entered, automated, or are awaiting results.

For more information, please see this article.

Awaiting Results

The default for new applications will be to show the assessments as awaiting results. This can be seen by the orange 'Awaiting results' pill next to the assessment title and the orange banner at the bottom of the assessment panel.

From here, you can either wait for the BKSB results to be automatically updated or you can manually enter the results.

Example of assessments awaiting results:

Manually Entered Results

If you choose to manually enter the results, once you save and return to the page you will see the green 'Manually entered' pill next to the assessment title and the green banner at the bottom of the assessment panel.

You will be able to edit the Result, Date, and/or attached file.

If you manually enter a result and later the BKSB assessment is completed, this section will update with the new automated results and discard the manually entered information.

Example of manually entered results:

Automated Results

Once the automated results have been received from BKSB, the fields will be populated and the blue 'Automated' pill will be shown next to the assessment title and the blue banner will be shown at the bottom of the assessment panel.

These results cannot be manually overwritten.

Example of automated results:

Progressing the Application

The progress indicators for the 'Functional skills initial assessments' page will be updated to the green tick indication complete once a result has been provided for every assessment associated with the programme. This could be either an automated result or a manually entered result.

Displaying Level 2 Results

We have also changed how Level 2 BKSB results are displayed in Bud so that the full result is displayed, no longer rounded. For example, if a result is Level 2.6 it was previously displayed as Level 2, but now it will display as Level 2.6.
